The deviantart derped and sent a fragment of the journal BUT HERE WE GO
I was tagged by one of my two magnificent ysylven: and now I NEED TO DO THIS SHET OR ELSE I WILL BE THE UNFATHOMABLE BETCH.
HERE'S THE 8 FACTS ABOUT THIS ASSHOLE OF A DRAGON -> YSULYAN.
THINK YOU HAD ENOUGH OF HIM ALREADY? WELL TOO BAD, YOU GOTTA SUCK IT UP AND READ MORE ABOUT HIM.
DID YOU KNOW? *shot*
Ysulyan cannot see colours too well the closer to the purple side of the color wavelength spectrum they are (purple colours appear gray-ish to him); on the other hand, he sees red/orange/yellow colours very brightly and a liiiitle bit of infrared, which allows him to see very, very warm objects/things at night, yet with a very blurry gaze; so little, that he actually sometimes forgets he has that perk.
2- Unlike what you might think, Ysul is not some kind of tree-loving druid, he is actually quite centered in gaining fortitude and power when he is around other dragons. This is due to a choice he made long ago when he was learning the ways of his element. Heartwood Sentinels like him seek peace around society while Moonlight Sentinels do so in vegetation.
3- Ysulyan's element is easily counteracted by any unholy/corrupt element. He is resistant to acids and poisons.
4- Ysulyan's strength resides in the knowledge of the other elements rather than his own element, using them to find weak spots and exploiting them with anything he has at his own disposal if need, since nature itself has very few offensive skills. He would rather not fight though, since knowledge gained from other elements are best used for diplomacy as it has always been a custom in his element.
5- Too much nature can make Ysulyan delirious, crazy and hyperactive up to a point in which he is just plain stupid and carefree; he acts as he wishes and talks out loud without thinking twice, making it quite dangerous for his own good. That's why they meditate to release the excess of Vizys (nature energy).
6- Ysulyan's scales change colour depending on the chlorophyll that nature has around him (this is due to the synthesis that Ysulyan performs with nature around him, a constant feedback of energy his body does automatically with plants) except when said colour is within the violet family. This process generally takes days and it is a gradual change, that meaning his scales don't switch into a different hue immediately.
7- Ysulyan is allergic to gunpowder (consequentially saltpeter, charcoal and sulfur too). Ysulyan's fire is made with acetylene gas, which burns when in contact with oxygen. The gas is stored in a special lung-like organ within his body in between his actual lungs and diaphragm, underneath his heart. His anthro version has an undeveloped organ and he cannot breathe fire, thusly.
8- I don't know where I got the inspiration to draw Ysulyan for the first time, I think it was completely random, as well as his name. I had to create a persona for this website so I gathered two of my favourite things: dragons and the green colour. I used this concept to create the lore in which nature dragons are bound to in my world. Nature dragons just appeared one day out of nowhere from within the roots of the great Utpä tree. And they did not carry names at all, they were just guardians of nature, there to stay settled and unchanged until they had to intervene with the problems of the other dragons. Ysul used to be completely green, with bright green scales as seen in a previous deviation. Unlike what most people think, he was not the first character I ever created; it was Nyelyn who first shone in my mind and that's why I treasure her so much.
ALRIGHT THAT'S IT FOR TODAY
