A strange affinity towards Astronomy?

I've been finding myself obsessed with what's above us... No, not religion, but space. Stars, Galaxies, the Universe, Nebulas, Solar Systems, Worlds, did I mention Stars?, everything that's beyond our atmosphere. Man I don't know what the hell is my problem but I just cannot stop searching for that stuff in the internet, Wiki and YouTube. I've always wanted a telescope to search the sky at night, observe the moon and whatnot, but I have no moneys for that kind of expense.
I think I have found out that UY Scuti is the most massive star in the Universe (possibly, with roughly a diameter of 2,375,828,000 kilometers it has a surface area of about 2.91 million times that of the Sun) and man, those huge stars and massive spaces out there just blow my mind, majorly. Nebulas, also beautiful to sight, amaze me. To think that 1 light year of distance is 6 trillion miles, and many things out there are more than just 1 digit-of-light-year away, man... It just explodes in my mind, I don't know how to explain. And many other things really catch my attention.
I've been feeling these funny thoughts a long time ago when I watched Star Wars, played Mass Effect and that similar stuff, but I have not felt such a liking to it until a couple of months ago, possibly at the beginning of November. Ever since I've found myself looking at these stuff much more.
The thought of all of this also expands my imagination, it is impossible for us to be the only living, intelligent creatures, certainly improbable. There may be other humans in different parts of the Universe, who's to say that I am wrong?
Or maybe other kind of intelligent beings, as many movies, stories and games have shown us, yes.
Who's to say that intelligent living dragons do not exist either? Like the ones you and I created? That is why I recently decided to locate Ysulyan's World inside a Solar System within the Milky Way, making it definite (before this I didn't even know where to put it).
And what about different resources we lack on Earth but we can find in massive amounts somewhere else? If we run out of resources here we can simply explore the infinity that is our Galaxy already, and there are millions of other Galaxies out there, although extremely far away-- If we ever make it to create space ships capable of transporting us to such distances...
Some say it is not possible to travel at the Speed of Light because the Theory of Relativity explains that traveling at such speed would actually return you in time (True? I don't think so).
If anyone shares this affinity towards Astronomy please try to share some stuff with me, because even though I'm apparently interested in this subject, I know very little xD

Space is really, really cool. I've gone on tours of notable giant telescopes, and was absolutely fascinated by them. You aren't alone.
